Brownfield Redevelopment
City of Brookfield, Wisconsin
Project Background
Liesch was retained by the City of Brookfield, Wisconsin to prepare brownfield inventories for three separate study areas relating to the City’s 2020 Master Plan.
Scope of Work
Liesch prepared preliminary environmental assessments for each area which consisted of identifying sites included in federal, state and local databases documented for past environmental remediation, tanks, hazardous material generation, and other environmental corrective actions. The project also included a drive-by visual assessment of structures within each study area to document occupancy, utilization, and condition of each site.
A final report was prepared that identified all areas with actual or potential releases. This information assisted the City in identifying sites of interest when developing or obtaining parcels within each study area. The document was also prepared to assist the City with obtaining State and Federal grants for brownfield remediation. Finally the brownfield inventory was used by the City in preparing their 2020 Master Plan update.
