At Liesch, our engineers, geologists, and hydrogeologists work collectively to design and implement efficient, cost-effective solutions to remediate contaminated sites. We interact with the appropriate federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to ensure that cost-effective investigation and remediation proceeds to closure, on time and within budget.

SITE INVESTIGATIONS

Most remediation projects begin with an investigation to characterize the extent and magnitude of contamination at a site. Soil samples are often collected and analyzed for target analytes based on the history of operation. Water quality assessments, including one-time sampling and/or dedicated wells, may be used to assess water quality. Pump tests and groundwater modeling may be conducted to provide data that aids in the design of removal wells and size appropriate remediation equipment. Information from the site investigation is used, in conjunction with treatablility testing, to estimate the life cycle, capital, and operating costs for remediation.

  • Aquifer Testing and Modeling
  • Soil Permeability Testing
  • Assessment of Chemical and Biological Remediation

FEASIBILITY STUDY & TREATABILITY TESTING

Once the extent of contamination has been identified, we evaluate available technologies and identify remedial actions for further evaluation. Treatability and/or pilot testing may be conducted to provide the necessary data for optimization of the design of a full-scale remediation system.

REMEDIATION SYSTEM DESIGN

Our design experience covers a broad range of remediation technologies, including both in-situ and ex-situ physical/chemical and biological treatment processes. Our engineers are continually evaluating innovative applications of existing technologies to ensure that only the most efficient, cost-effective solutions are selected for implementation. Upon selection of a preferred technology, Our engineers and computer aided design (CAD) professionals prepare detailed plans and specifications, as well as administer bidding and contracting for treatment system installation.
